Heather Baker, LCSW-S, CEDS-S
Executive Director, CEO
she/her/hers
Heather Baker is the founder and owner of Prosperity Eating Disorders and Wellness, PLLC, which she established in 2012 as Virginia’s first dedicated Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for eating disorder treatment. What began as a pioneering vision for accessible, specialized care has grown into a Joint Commission-accredited practice serving adults and adolescents across two Virginia locations — Reston and Norfolk.
With over two decades of clinical experience, Heather has dedicated her career to treating individuals across the lifespan with a wide range of presenting concerns. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (licensed since 2002) and a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist and Approved Consultant (CEDS-C) through the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP), bringing both deep clinical expertise and genuine personal passion to her work in the eating disorder field.
Heather specializes in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, utilizing this evidence-based modality not only in trauma treatment but also in addressing body image concerns, fear foods, and other eating disorder-related challenges — an approach that reflects her commitment to treating the whole person in recovery.
Beyond her clinical work, Heather is a dedicated advocate and educator. She serves as a Board Member of the Residential Eating Disorders Consortium (REDC), where she works to establish the highest standards for eating disorder treatment programs and advocates for meaningful mental health and eating disorder legislation. She is equally passionate about training the next generation of clinicians and educating communities on the detection, prevention, and treatment of eating disorders.
Heather’s work is rooted in the belief that full recovery is possible — and that every individual deserves compassionate, evidence-based care to get there.

Mary Dye, MPH, RDN, CEDS-C
Nutrition Director
she/her/hers
Mary is a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist and Approved Consultant (CEDS-C) through the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP), with over two decades of experience in the field. Born and raised in Virginia Beach, she is thrilled to be back “home,” bringing expert nutritional care to the Hampton Roads community she grew up in.
Mary’s approach is rooted in an intuitive eating philosophy — she believes in helping clients rebuild trust in their bodies rather than prescribing restrictive food rules. While structured meal planning is often an important part of early treatment, her ultimate goal is always to guide clients toward internally directed, cue-based eating, free from food judgment and fear.
Mary has worked across every level of eating disorder care throughout her career, both up and down the East Coast and internationally. She served as the lead dietitian for New York University and was selected as the first nutrition consultant for NYU’s Abu Dhabi campus, where she counseled students and advised faculty on eating disorder assessment and treatment. She went on to spend six years as Director of Nutrition Services at the Oliver-Pyatt Centers for Eating Disorders, and helped launch the flagship Clementine Program for Adolescents in Miami, FL, overseeing care from residential through intensive outpatient levels.
Today, Mary serves as Director of Nutrition for Prosperity’s Norfolk location and continues to serve as an expert advisor for Within Health. She co-authored “The CEDRD in Eating Disorder Care” with fellow members of iaedp’s Nutrition and Health Management Committee, and is a frequent speaker on weight inclusivity, intuitive eating, step-down care, and eating disorder prevention and treatment.
Mary completed her master’s degree and R.D. training in Public Health Nutrition at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with additional public health training at UNICEF in the Department of Infant and Young Child Feeding.
