Why We Started

While working in a private practice setting and specializing in Eating Disorders, I found that most of my clients had to travel all over NOVA to get the treatment for the recovery of their eating disorder and spent a lot of money and time, only to find that they still weren’t getting the level of care that they needed. The vision came to me that there needs to be a place in Northern Va where eating disorder specialists were gathered together to work on providing comprehensive services like you would see in a residential center, but where the clients can still have the opportunity to live life at home. Also, by offering lower cost services, like group therapy, and reduced rate individual sessions, the clients may have a better opportunity to get the amount of care they need. I have also seen many times that individuals are sent by their therapists, families or doctors straight to residential without going to a specialist and receiving specific treatment for eating disorders first.
